Orlando Business Journal - October 20, 2006
All eyes are on the Tucker's Point Club, the ultra-luxury resort, club and residential community that promises to enhance tourism to Bermuda. Not only will it bring the first new upscale hotel to the island in nearly 30 years, but also a world-class private golf, beach and tennis club.
Scheduled to open in phases over the next three years, Tucker's Point Golf, Beach and Tennis Club features access to exceptional facilities, including:
The crown jewel of the club is the completely redesigned golf course, which opened for play in April 2002. Masterminded by Roger Rulewich, former senior designer for Robert Trent Jones, the 6,361, par 70 course boasts extraordinary water views and challenges golfers with re-contoured holes and greens that have been replaced with a new hybrid Bermuda grass for a faster, truer putting surface. A 20,000-sq.-ft. clubhouse—with sweeping views of Castle Harbour and the open Atlantic—will overlook the practice range and the new 18th green.
The Beach Club at the South Shore Beach will be renovated and expanded into the largest private beach club on the island. The Beach Club, bordering the hotel's pink-sand beach, will have a freshwater "horizon" swimming pool, changing rooms, a full-service watersports centre and a cozy restaurant/ bar for al fresco dining. The Tennis Club will serve up four Har-Tru® "clay" tennis courts and a pro shop.
In addition to the Club facilities, members, their families and guests will also enjoy various facilities at the Tucker's Point Hotel & Spa. Included is the new 14,000-square-foot European style spa, located below the hotel's main entrance overlooking Harrington Sound. There they can decompress in the spa's lounges, whirlpools, saunas and steam baths, surrender to pampering in private treatment rooms, or exercise at its fully-equipped health club and fitness center.
Membership to the Tucker's Point Golf, Beach & Tennis Club is offered by invitation only. For membership inquiries, please write to Bruce Fraser, General Manager, Tucker's Point Golf, Beach & Tennis Club at P.O. Box HS 101, Harrington Sound, Bermuda HS BX.
